Ham and Cherry Sauce
10 lb ham
¼ cup applejuice
¼ cup water
1 tbs gloves
Directions: Preheat oven to 275 degrees F. (135 degrees C). Remove any visible excess fat from ham. Place the ham in a large turkey roasting oven bag and place in a baking dish. Pour juice and water over ham, remove as much air as possible and seal bag. Prick a few holes in bag to let steam escape and bake for 4 to 5 hours. Pour off excess juice and slice.
Cherry Sauce
1 cup dried cherries
2 ¼ cups water
2 tbs cornstarch
2 tbs light brown sugar
½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
Combine all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil leaving ¼ cup water and cornstarch to the side. Reduce heat, simmer until cherries become plump, approx. 20 min. Mix 1/4 cup water and 2 tbs. cornstarch add to cherries, bring to BOIL to thicken. Remove from heat and serve. Note: mix water and cornstarch before adding to cherries or the starch will clump up.
